Pet Food Fact and Fiction: How to Feed Healthy Dogs and Cats

Lisa Weeth, was awarded her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis, in 2002. She worked as a part-time emergency clinician in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002 and then a full-time associate veterinarian at a general practice in the Bay Area from 2003-2005. She then went back to the University of California, Davis, for a Residency in Clinical Nutrition between 2005-2007 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition in 2007.
She joined Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2007 as a Clinical Nutritionist. There she provides consultations to clinicians both within the Red Bank Network of hospitals and the greater New York/New Jersey region. She provides in-person appointments for pet owners and telephone consults for veterinarians regarding dietary management of specific disease states; feeding healthy dogs and cats; formulation of home-prepared diets (for wellness or disease management); development of weight loss plans; and feeding of hospitalized dogs and cats (including development of assisteed feeding tube plans and formulation of parenteral nutritional solutions).
